- Nature of the List
The World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list exist for the only purpose of keeping the Jesuit Alumni and friends informed of all the news coming for the Union itself. No other type of message will ever be sent to this mailing list.
Identity Disclosure
- No message to the World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list will ever come from others than the World Union webmaster, who is the responsible for its correct management. The World Union agrees not to operate with forged source or "From:" identification and will never use a third party's e-mail address (domain name) without permission and keeping safe.
- It may temporary use an autoresponder as a reply-to address but it must also make sure they use an e-mail address capable of accepting replies at the time of mailing.
- In addition, the World Union agrees not to send more direct e-mails than it can handle in a reasonable period.
Selling or Sharing of the List
As a consequence of points 2 and 3, the World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list will never be sold, rent, traded or distributed (as a whole or in part( to thirds parts outside the World Union itself
E-mail Address Procurement
- The World Union agrees that all email addresses shall be collected solely from publicly accessible sources, to include Sent Email Messages, Opt-In Requests, Subscriptions, Newsgroups, Focused Search Engine Extraction, List Servers, New User Chat Rooms, Forums, Web Malls and various other Public Web Sites.
- Data collection using automated or other equipment is subject to the provisions or the local data protection law.
- Individual privacy rights will be respected at all times.
Content of Messages
- The World Union shall not knowingly send to the mailing list direct e-mail which content is deceptive or misleading, or misrepresenting. It will always send messages which inform or promote services which are of interest to the target of this mailing list. The World Union shall not knowingly send direct e-mail which, in their opinion, may tend to violate any local, state or federal laws. Further, it will not knowingly provide service for the purpose of distributing of racial, political, or personal attacks of any type. Any material such as "chain letters", "pyramid schemes", and/or "Ponzi plans" that violate state or federal law shall not be distributed to the list. Transmission of any material protected by state or federal laws, such as patents and copyrights, are also prohibited.
- We will not be liable for any and all misuse of Internet Software and/or Internet Accounts, under any circumstances. We will not be liable for any and all damages, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses, including legal fees, which result from misuse of Internet Software and/or Internet Accounts.
Disclaimer of Warranty
- The recipient of the World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list messages expressly agrees that reading of the messages is at recipient's sole risk. Neither the World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae, its affiliates nor any of their respective employees, agents, third party content providers or licensors make any warranty as to the results that may be obtained from use of these messages, or as to the accuracy, reliability or content of any information, service, or merchandise provided through these.
- This disclaimer of warranty applies to any damages or injury caused by any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, alteration of, or use of record, whether for breach of contract, tortuous behavior, negligence, or under any other cause of action.
- In addition to the terms set forth above neither the World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae, nor its affiliates, information providers or content partners shall be liable regardless of the cause or duration, for any errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or other defects in, or untimeliness or unauthenticity of, the information contained within these messages, or for any delay or interruption in the transmission thereof to the user, or for any claims or losses arising therefrom or occasioned thereby. None of the foregoing parties shall be liable for any third-party claims or losses of any nature, including, but not limited to, lost profits, punitive or consequential damages. The World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae, its affiliates, information providers or content partners shall have no liability for decisions based on the information provided. Neither, the World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae, nor its affiliates, information providers or content partners warrant or guarantee the timeliness, sequence, accuracy or completeness of this information. Additionally, there are no warranties as to the results obtained from the use of the information.
Subject Field
All mailings by members must include a valid and not misleading headline in the subject heading of any mailings.
Contact Details Inclusion
All messages to the World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list must add the full name, address and telephone number of the sender within the message. It must adopted this format for their mailings:

Further transmissions to you by the sender may be stopped at no cost to you by forwarding this e-mail to remove@jesuitalumni.org.
Removal Requests
All messages to the World Union of Jesuit Alumni’s mailing list must add a simple statement which should be prominently displayed at the beginning of every direct e-mail message and will take the form of the following:

Promptness of Removal
The World Union webmaster must process removal requests before any further send of message to the mailing list.
Email Harrassment
Electronic email harrassment is expressly prohibited. The World Union will take every precaution against terrorist actions from individuals and groups who may be opposed to it. If the World Union becomes the target of an attack, retaliation shall be by legal remedy only.
SMTP Servers
The World Union agrees to use a valid SMTP (mail) server and have received express permission from its ultimate domain. Under no circumstances shall it use a SMTP server without express permission from it ultimate domain and without following the rules laid down by such SMTP servers. The Service Provider must send the transmissions to the list.
Coexistence with ISPs
Because the nature of the Internet is based on cooperation between unaffiliated network providers, the World Union intend to cooperate with other Internet Service Providers so as not to become a nuisance, or place any unnecessary burden on any other ISP in the course of its conducting its action. This may require scheduling mailing at a time and volume agreeable to the parties involved, or in some cases, requiring that entire domains be filtered or removed from mailing lists entirely. Amendments
The World Union reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notification.
Miscellaneous.
This agreement and any operating rules for this site established by the World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersede all previous written or oral agreements between the parties with respect to such subject matter. This agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Italian country, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. No waiver by either party of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default. The section headings used herein are for convenience only and shall not be given any legal import.
